How to fly in comfort

For many people, air travel brings a lot of inconvenience. But there are some tips that you should take note of for a comfortable and tireless flight.

On my own, I was never afraid to fly. The feeling that now a powerful car will lift you up has always caused a certain delight. But I often heard stories about fear of flights and inconveniences on the way firsthand.

Of course, it was always interesting how people deal with inner fear. In addition, I learned about things that make the flight itself more comfortable. I will tell about them further.

How to get rid of the fear of flying on airplanes?
First, I’ll give you some optimistic statistics. Passengers fly by air a little more than 60 years. For all this time, about 150 thousand people died. The figure, of course, is huge. But what if we compare air transport with automobile?

According to the UN, about 1.25 million people die as a result of an accident each year. The figure is just shocking. And then it becomes clear that everything is relative. So, the probability of dying in an accident is a thousand times greater than in a plane crash.

Not encouraged by such statistics? There are several other methods of dealing with fear. I will not advise taking alcohol or sedative pills before flying. You can do without it.

But you should know that both alcohol and drugs at altitude affect our body in a different way than on earth. The point is the difference in pressure, oxygen saturation and air humidity. Therefore, when taking anything, be careful.

To cope with fear, try other methods. Find and download an exciting offline game on your phone and start playing before takeoff. It can help distract. Similarly, you can try to make a list of your favorite music on the road or listen to an audiobook.

On the plane, it’s not necessary to turn off the phone, just turn on the “flight” mode, so as not to create unnecessary micro-noise for the pilots. Do not try to catch the Internet or communication – all the same, at the height it will not work.

Nobody forbids to stand in the cabin. Therefore, during the flight, it is not necessary to sit and wait all the time until the muscles get numb. You can even do a warm-up and thereby improve blood circulation. What you do not need to do is run around the cabin, hurt other passengers, interfere with the flight attendants and knock on the cockpit.

Try to go to the simulators before the flight. This is a virtual cabin, which is fixed on the ground and never rises into the air. But with the help of virtual reality glasses and spectacular shakes, you will feel all the emotions. Flight preparedness will give you more confidence.

Another way to get rid of fear is to tune in before the flight, and choose a comfortable place. In the bow and near the wings, turbulence is least felt, as well as all the accompanying shakes. You can choose a place not near the window, so as not to see how the plane soars at altitude.

Calm yourself before climbing the ramp. Talk with friends, remember pleasant, and even better funny stories, distract yourself from negative thoughts and tune in to a wave of positive and calm. In the cabin you can meet a neighbor in the armchairs and talk with him to distract.

Try all the options together and remember that all fears can be, if not defeated, then very well pacified.

How to fly in comfort
It would seem that you are not driving off-road in a chair with wheels. Soft chairs, footrests, armrests – all made for the convenience of passengers. But you can make the flight even more convenient.

Take an air bag under your neck. It will not take up much space and allow the muscles not to strain, if the chair is not quite your height.
An ordinary pillow can serve the spine if it is placed under the back.
Bring nuts, dry snacks or candies with you. The air is dry in the cabin, so the taste buds will require something tasty.
If there is no fear of flying, choose a place at the porthole. There it is more convenient to lean on the side wall. Plus, you will not be disturbed to exit.
Better take your headphones. Often airlines clean their headphones and then re-pack. Not the fact that you come across such. But personally I am in this case for a drop of paranoia and hygiene.
Take your skin matting wipes with you. They will help to cope with excessive sweating.
